Our Values

What shapes how we live, lead, and love.

Core values are the guardrails that keep a church focused on its mission. They shape how we function, what we celebrate, and the language we want to speak.

Biblical Authority & Study

God’s Word is our standard for truth and practice. We teach the Bible clearly, follow it carefully, and submit to it joyfully. We want every person to meet with God in His Word through personal Bible study, Scripture-shaped decisions, and humble obedience.

Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Psalm 119:105

Christ-Centered Worship

Jesus is the focus of our gatherings. We sing the truth, read Scripture, pray, and come to the Lord’s Table to exalt Christ together. Our worship is shaped by gospel clarity, congregational participation, and humble excellence.

Scripture: Colossians 3:16–17; John 4:23–24

Multi-Generational Discipleship

The family of God includes every age. We are committed to helping children, students, adults, and seniors grow as fully devoted followers of Jesus. We learn from one another, pass on the faith, celebrate changed lives, and walk together in ongoing discipleship.

Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:4–7; Titus 2:1–8

Missions & Outreach

Jesus sends us to our city and the nations. We share the gospel, serve our community, support global partners, and equip people to take the good news of Jesus wherever they go.

Scripture: Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 1:8

Caring for People

Every person matters to God. We welcome people as they are, practice everyday hospitality, pray for one another, meet practical needs, and show the love of Christ with grace, compassion, and intentional care.

Scripture: John 13:34–35; Romans 12:10–13

Generosity & Stewardship

God has given us everything in Christ and entrusted us with time, resources, gifts, and opportunities. We give cheerfully and wisely to fuel gospel ministry, meet needs, bless our neighbors, and steward what God has provided for His glory.

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 9:6–8; 1 Peter 4:10

Our Core Beliefs

What we believe about important areas of our faith.

These core beliefs summarize the biblical convictions that shape our teaching, worship, discipleship, and life together as a church.

The Bible

We believe that the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of people, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.

Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20–21

God the Father

We believe that there is one living and true God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are equal and perfect in every divine attribute. They execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption.

Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Revelation 4:11

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ, true God and true man, was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. We believe in His sinless life, His miracles, and the truth of His teachings. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. He arose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven. At the right hand of the Father He is now our High Priest and Advocate.

Scripture: Matthew 1:23; Luke 24:38–39; Philippians 2:5–8; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 9:24; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 2:2

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus and to convict people of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates, sanctifies, and indwells every believer. His ministry includes comfort, guidance, instruction, and enablement for godly living and service. The miraculous sign gifts given during the early days of the Church were for a special time and purpose and not intended to be a pattern for the present day.

Scripture: John 3:5–7; John 16:8–11, 14; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:7, 13; 2 Corinthians 3:18; 2 Corinthians 12:12; Hebrews 1:1–2; Hebrews 2:1–4

Humanity

We believe that people were created by God in His image. By willful transgression we fell into sin and incurred not only physical death but spiritual death, which is separation from God. All human beings are sinners by nature and choice and are under the condemnation of a holy God.

Scripture: Genesis 1:27; Genesis 3:1–6; Genesis 3:9–23; Psalm 14:1–3; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 5:10–19

Salvation

We believe that the death of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only basis for the justification and salvation of all who believe. Only those who receive Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and become the children of God. This relationship is eternally secure. The true evidence of this new relationship appears in the fruits of repentance, faith, and newness of life.

Scripture: John 10:27–30; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 1:7; Ephesians 2:8–10; Titus 3:5; 1 John 3:6–7

The Church

We believe that the true church is composed of all such persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head. The local church is a congregation of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized by immersion on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, spiritual training, ministry, fellowship, and outreach.

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:12–13; Ephesians 1:22–23; Ephesians 4:11–16; Hebrews 10:25

The Ordinances

We believe that two ordinances have been committed to the local church: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Water baptism by immersion soon after accepting Christ as personal Savior is a testimony of identification with Jesus Christ. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial service that sets forth in sacred and symbolic manner the death of the Lord Jesus Christ. All true believers and only believers should share in it.

Scripture: Matthew 3:16; Acts 2:41–42; 1 Corinthians 11:23–32

The Family

We believe that the first institution established by God is the family. We commit ourselves to protect the marriage covenant between a man and woman and to maintain moral purity before and during marriage. Parents assume primary responsibility for the spiritual instruction and training of their children.

Scripture: Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:18; Malachi 2:13–15; Mark 10:6–12; Ephesians 6:1–4; Hebrews 13:4

End Times

We believe in the personal, premillennial, and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ. There will be a bodily resurrection of all the dead. The believer will be raised to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord. The unbeliever will be raised to judgment and everlasting, conscious punishment. We believe that Satan, the prince of this world, is the open and declared enemy of God and people. He has been defeated through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and he and all his angels will be eternally punished in the lake of fire.

Scripture: John 5:28–29; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; Titus 2:13; Revelation 20:10–15; Revelation 21:1–4

Our History

Faithful through every season.

For over 140 years, God has demonstrated His faithfulness to this church. While the name, buildings, strategies, and pastors have changed, one thing remains constant: the commitment to teaching and living God’s Word. We pray that God will continue to use Spring Creek Church so that people will grow to know and love Jesus.
