Stock Gifts

Give appreciated securities and coordinate the transfer details.

You can donate appreciated securities such as stock, mutual funds, or bonds. This may provide a greater tax benefit than selling the appreciated securities and donating cash.

Please check with your tax professional before initiating any transfer of securities.

If you would like to donate securities, you can initiate the transfer through your broker and request that the securities be transferred to:

Institution Name: Charles Schwab
Account Name: Garfield Baptist Church Inc.
Account Number: 6350-5255
DTC Number: 0164

Before initiating this kind of gift, contact our team so we can understand how you would like the gift to be used and send a tax receipt in a timely manner.

For gifts of securities, it may take 4 to 5 business days from the time your broker initiates a stock transfer before the securities are in the church account.
